An effects processor of sorts? How would this work? - Jeff - 23:49 27-11-05

I bought a Casio CTK 496 Keyboard (used). I just noticed this has 1/2" Jack
input and output. This is a question. I suppose I could plug my guitar
through this thing and then on out to the Amp and use it as sort of an
Effects Processor/MIDI to my Blues Jr? It has 100 built in Instruments, 100
songs, 100 beats (drums) and a lot of other things. I was also thinking I
could run it out to my Microcube Aux input and do the same things? One
question for anyone using something like this, it has an 1/4" jack that says
"Sustain", what is this used for?

It's for an optional sustain pedal like on a piano.

The input jack is intended for mics for 'sing along' purposes. Looks like
it takes a high-impedance dynamic mic.

Don't know what effects might be applicable to the mic signal, possibly some
reverb and echo; page E-17 of the manual doesn't specify anything but
volume.

It does not sound like you can do what you're asking about, but hey, you
have it and it's cheap to try.

Here's the manual:

http://ftp.casio.co.jp/pub/world_manual/emi/en/ctk_496_700/ctk_496_700_e.pdf

The sustain jack is for a sustain pedal - a very common keyboard accessory.

I don't recall the Blues Jr. having any stock MIDI functionality, so I am
not sure that you can get any linkage that way. You *could* add it, but
that's an entirely different question.

No. Come on. Think about this for a second. MIDI?

Besides, why are you asking us? You could have tried this out yourself,
would have taken less time than it took to post.

It sounds to me like your online lessons aren't working out, otherwise you
wouldn't be spending so much time on this shit.

Besides, you said you wanted to play da blues, right? So you bought
yourself an amp called a 'Blues Jr.' -- you ought to be half way there, eh?

Sorry for this top posting but I responded and almost forgot to answer
Sally's question(s)

Because this is a forum for asking guitar related questions. Oh, and I
wanted to. The real question here is "Why did you bother to waste 2 minutes
of your life responding at all if, rather than having something constructive
to say, you just wanted to bitch"?

Probably not, it only took me about 30 seconds to type before I climbed into
bed. I got up this morning to check my mail before heading off to work and
guess what, now I know I dont have to waste my time.

Actually they are working out just fine and thanks to recomendations from
this group about posting to to Craigslist I found 3 people in my town who
play Blues, one in my condo complex. In fact I am thinking of renting a
garage size storage area to practice in since we cant here.

Halfway there eh? Sounds to me like your sorta kinda putting down the amp
(and me). So either you dont know what your talking about or your just an
ahole or a combination of the two. Either way...PLONK!
