This is absolutely HILARIOUS!!...Update - Steven Johnson - 21:16 27-11-05

A couple months back, I shared the story about how the drummer in my band
decided to keep part of my gig money for a "P.A. Repair" without asking me,
and how I walked after the gig was over. I got some support, a little bit
of grief about it, but mostly everyone seemed to agree with my side that
unless it was discussed beforehand, he was in the wrong about keeping my
money.
That being said, I received an interesting phone call tonight. It was from
the owner of the bar where we were playing. Apparently, the owners want me
back!! He asked me if I'd be interested in coming back if he could
"Straighten out" the drummer (his words, not mine). I told him straight
out, that IF the drummer called me to talk about it, and we could come to
terms, I'd have no problem playing with him again. Obviously it'll be under
a straight "pay for play" contract. I enjoyed playing with the band, and
miss the gig, but I won't be someone's "whipping boy" and expect to be
treated with the same level of respect that I showed them. I don't think
that's too much to ask.
I heard that the club patrons are telling the owners that they want me
back....I think it's kind of nice that they think that much of me. Kind of
makes me feel a little humbled by it.

In my opinion, you did the right thing by walking. Now you really know how
much you are appreciated! Hope things work out between you and the drummer.

What comes around goes around, Myself I,I'm to hard headed if he wanted me
to come back I'd tell him to stick. Might be a sign to do something on your
own, maybe the rest of the band would like to find a new drummer?
