cool salesmen - §cİİt§ - 12:17 27-11-05

are there any cool guitar salesmen left in the world today? {mainly GC..}

all I ever get there are the "it says Classic because it's made for classic rock"
+ "you can't play rock on a Strat they're made for blues" -type 'sales doods" & such..
<sigh>

I have yet to come across a sales*woman* in any guitar shop...

I've been in a few GCs where they aren't too bad. I don't think anyone
there is working themselves through rocket science school or anything,
but they are a step up from the drones in the usual retail stores. I
have seen a few saleswomen in GC as well.

There is a saleswoman in the Sam Ash in Columbus, OH that is excellent,
especially with Gibson.
She can play well also.

One store has plenty of salesman trying to push service contracts
which I hate.
I usually only try to deal with one sales person who I've had
experience with before.

No two are alike.

What really starts to irritate me now is Best Buy is turning their
cashiers into salesmen. You can't buy a DVD anymore without hearing
about getting AOL, Magazine subscriptions.

I think only the boneheads that sit in the ivory towers think this is
great. How many of you stopped going to a Radio Shack because you were
sick and tired of giving your name and address for buying a 9 volt battery?

After working in the retail industry for 15 years I don't get
irritated with sales people offering all that crap. They are just
following orders. They don't like it either buy they're evaluations
depend on it.

Remember when car salesmen were blood suckers? The last time I bought
a vehicle I was watching most of them talking on their cell phones. I
got their attention by looking at higher priced cars.

I know of a sales girl there that plays (somewhat) and prefers
Gibsons...I've seen her play maybe 3-4 times and she wasn't that good....
all I seen was her playing power chords...this chic has black hair and
somewhat into the goth look...This the same one your thinking of?

About as annoying as fast food cashiers insisting on giving you a
receipt at the drive-up window.

Yeah, but there's a parallel that could work here. Let's say your guitar
purchase comes to $1073.56. Give the guy $1100.00 cash. He rings it up and
the cash register tells him how much change to give you. NOW produce a
penny. You'll probably get about two grand in change.
