I came across a Schecter TSH-1 in a pawn shop for $340. It is the
semi-hollow model with the cat's eye sound hole on one side. I've
looked around the internet and only 2 were on e-bay. Both for
$300-330. This particular pawn shop carries more brand new guitars
than used, so I know this one is new, as it also looks brand new.
I can't find many sources for info on this guitar. I read in some
sites that it was discontinued.
1) has it been discontinued? I think it has as it's not on schecter's
site as a listed model anymore.
2) are schecters decent guitars? the thing seems to be built really
well. I played it a little and the action is just a tad high, but
adjustable, of course. It has grover tuning keys, which from personal
experience have found to be decent.
3) I've seen other models for sale that are well over $1,000 (Including
the redesigned TSH-1 with the blue flakes).
Anyways, I will probably buy this guitar anyway as I think it looks
cool and it plays relatively well. I have no idea what these guitars
sound like and it wouldn't make a difference if I plugged it into an
amp there because they're all solid state tiny amps and I play an old
vox tube head through a 2x12 cab. I'm just getting to the stage in my
musical career where I've started to collect more gear than I can play
or gig with, and I like to get the scoop on models, companies, etc., so
if anyone owns one of these or knows of this model, I'd love the
lowdown!!!
thanks!
