Give the War Pigs file a try. It's not a perfect tab, but with the RSE the
guitar lead and power chords are _amazing_.

I upgraded recently. This is a very different product. Sounds on most songs
coded with version 4 sound like ABSOLUTE CRAP in version 5. Oh you sick sick
Frenchies, what did you do? Why did you ruin a great product? If you're
going to upgrade a product, at least make sure that the existing songbase
written with version 4 sounds decent. I don't know what the positive
trade-offs are with version 5, but if you have an extensive collection of
Guitar Pro songs written in version 4, you can count on them to sound like
turd soup now. Well, I'm sure there's a lot of good stuff in version 5, but
I wanted to be the first to tell you what's BAD, cuz that's just the kind of
jerk I am.

Click on the "RSE" button to default back to the old Midi Engine. Should
take care of the older songs.
However, most of the one's _I_ have listened to are actually much better.
There are exceptions. There is one particularly excellent file out there
called "Pink Floyd - Time - Breathe(reprise) - The Great Gig In The Sky.gp4"
that is very complex. It plays well under GP4 but is totally screwed under
GP5. The timing is all whacked out.
Though the guitar does sound like a guitar now :)
It's not a CPU usage issue. RSE CPU usage is well under 10% on my machine.
It's like the program can't keep up with the complexity of this particular
file, which has 12 tracks in it.

Also, while they finally incorporated multiple-selection capabilities, you
still can't _act_ on multiple selections, such as inserting chord notation.
For some odd reason, GP files are hopelessly void of chord notation (even
though the ability to do a nice job of them is in the software) and the only
way you can add them is to tediously select EACH individual chord on the
score and hit the button. You can't select an are of the music, then hit
the button. It's greyed out. A major disappointment.

Thanks, I'll check that setting. Did you notice that print preview has also
been removed? That's a major bummer.

However the printout's are far better. GP4 but way to little in way too
much space.
