Gibby or Epi? Had both, liked both, still have an Epi Firebird VII. Lots of
fun to play, but if you use the trem, it goes out of tune easily. BTW, all
mine were reverse

The non-reverse is a different critter from the more common reverse.
Different balance, different thing.
A friend had one. It was his main squeeze, though he had many guitars
from decades of playing, picking guitars up. He loved it, brought it up
in conversation often.
Was offered an exhorbitant amount for it, declined.
A real deal neck-through non-reverse could be a nice to great thing to
latch onto, dependent upon the individual guitar itself and the person.

I miss my '65 non-reverse Firebird 3. What a sweet axe. Two P90's, and a
small vibrola - wonderful. I also miss the money I never got for mine
since I sold it before the market for them exploded.
P90's are by far my favorite pickups. They do hum, but the tone is worth it.

Had a 66. Similar deal as yours but the tremelo had been removed and a
badass bridge put on by the previous owner. What a great sound. Sure
wish I still had that one.

I played a friends non-reverse way back in 1984. It played well and
sounded good. The only strange thing about it was it sounded like a
banjo when it wasn't plugged in. Probably because of the woods it was
made from.

Why would it be different balance when its got the same exact weight
and amount of wood in the headstock?Holding them both blindfolded you
wouldnt know one from the other Mr. Williams

The upper horn on the non-reverse Firebirds extends farther toward the
headstock than the reverse models, so they balance better, with less
tendency to neck-dive.

You haven't been around both or you wouldn't say that. Different
balance. One is much more comfortable for those who dig it than the
other.
