I don't know of any specific guitar techs in Manhattan, but why don't you
contact Matt Umanov Guitars on Bleecker Street?. They've been around for a
million years, have an excellent reputation, and, if they don't do the work
themselves, I'm sure they can refer you to someone of repute.

Try Dave Schwartz, guitar tech at Alto Music in Monsey, NY. He did several
old Fenders for me back in the '90s and the work was absolutely first rate.

Thanks for the recommendations guys. I'll give Matt Umanov a shout. Rudy's
repair said they can handle the job. And also Jimmy at Guitar Boutique did a
good job on my Les Paul, but to be honest, the feel is completely different than
before. I'd like to avoid that.
