Just a quick question. What strings do Epi LP Standards come with when you
buy this guitar? I have one and ain't got a clue what make or guage they
are. Anyone know which strings they might be?

The cheapest 9 gauge strings they can dig up. Make that the first thing
you do when you get it home, change the strings (Les Pauls *LOVE* 10 gauge
strings), set up the intonation and you will have a really good guitar for
the money.

My daughter's Epi Les Paul came with 9s. I think the brand was "Cheese
Grater." It's set up with ERnie Ball 10s now.

Not really. "For the money," a much nicer LP knock-off could have been
purchased. Not that Epi's are intrinsicaly bad, but theyre certainly not a
good buy in the financial sense.

I'm pretty sure they were 10s but the first thing most people do is
change strings to whatever they prefer since no telling how long the
original set has been on.

Anyone know if there is a sort of "factory defualt" for the type of strings
they ship em out with?
I always thought they were Super Slinky, but now I wonder.
Strange that they tell you all about the other hardware on the guitar and
ommit the most important part.

I dunno- I like mine. I'm sure if I could have done my shopping in a
larger centre with a bunch of music stores, I may gave bought something
else. I paid $550 Cdn. for mine. I'm sure there's better deals out
there, but not where I did my shopping.

Some guitar manufacturers let you know on the tag. Washburn, Alvarez
usually have a tag of what brand of string are used.
